Frequently Asked QuestionsWe've compiled this handy list of questions that our customers often ask Dr Discs, so please check these before you get in touch with him, as it might already be answered below. If you've got a question that isn't answered here then please feel free to get in contact with the Dr and he will get back to you as soon as he's finished his day's burning.
1. How do I send you my master disc?Ideally please send your audio as a .wav audio file and it must be less than 74 minutes long. We will burn CDs up to 79.9 minutes but there will be a £10 per 100 discs surcharge. We will also burn from mp3 or whatever format your audio is recorded in but remember the finished CDs will only be as good as your master disc so do your research and make sure you master your audio at the best quality you can get. The easiest way to send us your audio is to use getdropbox.com which will give you 2GB of space and is a free upload site. If your audio file is less than 500MB then you can use the easier to use upload site www.yousendit.com and send the link to info@iwantcds.co.uk. Or pop into our shop in person, or if you want to send your master disc in via snail mail please post it to: I Want CDs! email if you have any enquiries. 2. How do I supply artwork?Please send us a high res JPG (300dpi) of your ready made artwork. Use a 12cm diameter circle and bear in mind there will me a 2cm centre hole. DO NOT cut out the centre hole - leave the background in there –WE WILL CUT OUT THE CENTRE HOLE. Please email your artwork to info@iwantcds.co.uk or send via yousendit.com or post the a CD with your artwork to: I Want CDs! We can use GIF/PDF/TIFF etc so send whatever you have but make sure the resolution is at least 300 dpi for best results, any images grabbed from the web will most likely pixelate on printing. If we have any concerns about the quality of your artwork we will contact you before printing. We can do basic text lay up for free and put your logo as a background but if you want something eye catching – speak to our art department who can do stunning designs to your specification. 3. Can I check the mastered sound before it gets duplicated?If you request it, we will upload your sound file to Yousendit or a simlar file-sharing service and email across a copy of the mastered file, to get your approval otherwise we will assume your file is ready to burn with no editing. 4. Can I check the CD artwork before it gets duplicated?We will email you a proof of how your CD will look before we go to print and allow you to feedback by email or phone. 5. How long will it take for my discs to be ready?Once you've placed your order we will immediately start the job. None of our customers have ever waited longer than a week for a turn-around on a job. If you require your discs faster then please speak to us so that we can serve you quicker. 6. Why do you ask for payment using Paypal?The majority of our customers prefer to use PayPal than through other payment methods as it makes it easy for them because they don't need to re-enter card details every time they buy. PayPal also uses cutting-edge data encryption, fraud detection tools and all kinds of other advanced techniques to improve security. 7. Do you take any other method of payment?If you do not wish to pay with PayPal then we can take bank transfer, cleared cheque, or cash, so please speak to use about alternative arrangements when placing your order. 8. Can I pick my CDs up from you direct to save on postage?We are based in Bournemouth so you can collect in person from our shop and we can arrange pick-up if you are near any of these locations, or sometimes we will deliver by person. |
